currently this is the plan one is cold water and one is sand fine and worn down i am a crown of thorns i have been called that before words in a form i don’t know or wishes in wells by a house made of bones or a ghost town with no other children around i’ve never been there before who lit the fire of bridges burned down? you’d never know from these tomes if i’d been granted or left on my own but granted i’m done i am too old to be young i’ve often felt that before last night i dreamt i was worn and i do hold fast side by side we are born though searching tonight two now, before it took one i’ve often felt that before who lit the fire of bridges burned down? he is my man with a plan one is a horse, one a caravan he flags down a train, somewhere, that’s pulling away quiet the station today wrote him this song in good time down in a book by a cup of old wine it should be grand we left the children behind i have been told this before who lit the fire of bridges burned down?

Sabotage 04:24
maybe when i wrote that song, i was calling for it wrong tripping all along i was longing for to rhyme trying to fake it, wanting to make it mine but i was trying half the time, maybe find me when the grass grows long or only when the wind blows strong over the day i will be lousy then with bright rhyme gotta fake it till you make it but i was crying half the time, maybe and i earned every burn i own i was standing in a fireplace while looking for stones to throw falling in and out of sleep though time it may travel, we won’t unravel but i was trying half the time, maybe not a leaf from the seeds i sow i threw salt on heavy meadows so nothing would ever grow but i was crying half the time, maybe maybe if the chords sound wrong you’re thinking of another song one about sun one about sleeping in, not about weeping i will try jumping sets of stairs with broken feet and something bleeding but i was crying half the time, maybe sabotage is an arrow, i am a bow i have woken up in crowds of people looking past friends, i know but i was crying half the time gotta fake until i make it mine now i will try in double time

flocks of birds with their shadows that paint every wall i worship a totem a thousand feet tall like the deepening red of a new waterfall i dig into the dirt to remember you all let go the liars, keep the drunks and the fools though they may break you down, they will tell you the truth if kindnesses cure any quivering soul then the daggers of silence will undo them all please love me the way i am sure that you can i was there when you whispered i was part of your plan if our love is a totem a thousand feet tall i will worship the sparrows flying over it all flocks of birds with their shadows that paint every wall our love is a totem a thousand feet tall like the deepening red of a new waterfall i dig into the dirt to remember it all please love me in ways i am sure that you can i dress up like a lion but resemble a man oh the clocks are still marking the passing of time i ignore them while hoping for something sublime flocks of birds with their shadows that paint every wall our love is a totem a thousand feet tall like the deepening red of a new waterfall i dig into the dirt to remember it all
4.
Ordinary 05:51
i’ll believe anything said with care your two lips anything sent from there so be careful what you sell me and be careful what you say wound up clock counting the passing days but it’s a silly game cause i can’t ever say what the time is or where the sun is when the seasons change everyday is a story everyday is another i’m sorry and i know i am just ordinary you must know that i was born to run on a half-lit path thrown by the setting sun so be careful where you lead me cause i’m bound to go astray i’ll believe anything said with care tender breath anything sent from there so be careful what you whisper at the end of the day everyday is a story everyday is another i’m sorry and i know i am just ordinary don’t you want me to be home?
5.
Please Say 05:13
softly you said “you gotta go through hell before you go to bed” what do you think i’m going through? press down on your blues and try to picture heaven or else we’re gonna lose the light what do you think i’m dreaming of? this love when it was thunder until dawn we danced besides the poets and spurred the lightening on where do you think i’d rather be? stay just one more hour we’re gonna wake the neighbours we’re gonna have a shower where do you think i’m running to? it’s you when you catch me when you cradle me there with your beautiful stare don’t you know i’m gonna fight it? but when it’s hips on hips and i’m tracing your lips with my fingertips i’m not doing much to hide it can i see you every day? i’m a fool and i should run away can i see you every day? please say i’m underneath a waterfall and just like anybody who’s ever been at all how do i grab another breath? old feet in new shoes i’ll try to keep my speed up for fear of losing sight of you how do i keep you in my view? what do i do? when you catch me when you cradle me there with your beautiful stare don’t you know i’m gonna fight it? but when it’s hips on hips and i’m tracing your lips with my fingertips i’m not doing much to hide it can i see you every day? i’m a fool and i should run away can i see you every day? please say (press down on your blues and try to picture heaven or else we’re gonna lose the light what do you think i’m dreaming of?)

i found a river blue like the deep but my hands could touch the bottom of it so i walked thinking i could be there sooner thinking i could be there fast till i met an old man he said “son, what you running from?” i said “i can’t swim, and i’m drowning in the pain.” the old man said “look up.” said “son, you gotta be alright.” i looked down low where were my toes? they were walking on the stones so i carried that river till i got home when i was shivering, sun was down and i knew one more night and i’d be in the ground said “i gotta stay with you, not because i love you, but because i’m scared.” then he said “look up, look down. you see your feet on the ground? “ then he said “look up. you’ll see the sky before you know it, you’re dreaming of a new life.” so i carried the river till i got home what about them boys swinging in the breeze don’t you think they deserve more? he said “son, look up. they’re not in the breeze. they’re down on their knees.” i carried the river till i got home you’d carry a river till you get home (you take the river and you can run)
7.
Lethe 03:19
i’ll be a thief in the shadow, and you’ll be my innocent victim like a fire underwater i’ll look at your face till you give permission one of us howling at the moon could tear it down softly and cover us wholly just one of us waiting for the dawn it’s cold on the outside, but inside we’re warm and i don’t need horses to ride into the sun i just wanna walk till tomorrow comes and maybe we’ll drink from the river on the way and lethe will give me another day there’s no one on my shoulder hope they arrive before i get older or the world could spin faster then i won’t feel like such a disaster just one of us howling at the moon could tear it down softly and cover us wholly just one of us waiting for the dawn it’s cold on the outside, but inside we’re gone and i don’t need horses to ride into the sun i just wanna walk till tomorrow comes and maybe we’ll drink from the river on the way and lethe will give me another day
8.
if you think you could come over i could meet you anywhere underneath the roses will do or the path behind the stair if you wanna call me, call me we could laugh until we die any way the hands are pointing is fine we’ll be owls we’ll larks we’ll be nightingales and you’ll be mine all mine so if you wanna know the story take a look behind a stone that’s the place i left it waiting on the moss under the road on the road anyone who ever knows me knows me knows that i am coming back again anyone who ever really chose me thinks that i’d be better as a friend so if you’ll let me i will try don’t you cry don’t you forget me get me have the time do you have the time? but if you get me get me i will try don’t you cry and if you’ll let me let me i will try, if you give me time if you have the time (i believe)

six months is far too long to sleep, though peacefully little bird i ran to check on every breath, and though the rise and fall had stopped and almost broke those hollow bones i felt you keening smoke every shadow from your head, smash ‘em down little bird i know that you prefer the beast, but even warriors can sing and fill the morning little bird and face the morning when the sky did fall on you, you just lived through it cause we both know, you passed right through it, into it beneath the boughs, no warming sun above, the lift up let not the monsters dance their way across your eyes through your head out from beneath your furrowed brow under the shelter of your frown are sirens screaming little words you know their meaning if the sky did fall on you, you would live through it cause we both know you’d pass right through it, into it the forest floor you’ve warmed enough above, the lift up pick yourself up now from the ground, from the floor little bird little bird, there is a word to help you out from underneath it is a warning, little bird it is a warning (ok, you’re hiding away but you’re hiding away from yourself ok, little bird. ok, little bird there is a word to help you out from underneath it is a warning little bird it is a warning)
10.
Outlive 05:49
you keep on turning the lock though there’s a key on the floor it’s okay when you stare at the fire escape just allow me to believe that maybe some melody can be made don’t go far we defend what we made i don’t know how but every stitch can be undone no one knows why but that don’ t mean you don’t give it a try said to breathe on a mirror for to look at its shine to end up where you do when you wander tonight oh stars in disguises there is a lot coming through i can see how they are warming the seasons in you i don’t know how but every brick can be un-laid i can see why now all you’d need is a reason to try i am unashamed doesn’t everyone know it? maybe i’ll see you again what about outlive instead of outgrow it? baby i’ll see you again we can find a real way to pretend that there are sparks at the windows mine are the marks every heart knows i will look to them see my face and then maybe i’ll see you tonight you’re a cold engine running i’m a key on the floor it’s okay if you sleep on the fire escape if the stairs take to falling maybe some melody can be made don’t go far we defend and we save no one knows why but that don’ t mean you don’t give it a try i am unashamed doesn’t everyone know it? maybe i’ll see you tonight put me in your bed and i’ll never outgrow it baby i’ll see you again i am unashamed doesn’t everyone know it? maybe i’ll see you again what about outlive instead of outgrow it? baby i’ll see you again we’ll find a real way to pretend that there are sparks at the windows these are the marks every heart knows i will look to them see your face and then maybe i’ll see you tonight cause there are sparks at the windows these are the marks every heart knows i will look to them see your face and then maybe i’ll see you tonight
11.
i got two old songs, they ain’t been finished yet one of them is a busted smile the other one, a golden crown, but i don’t sing it now you’re not around i got two old songs tell me everything is gonna be fine oh lord i got two shots of you leaning up against the fireplace one of them is in black and white the other one is yellow-green you’re like some idol from a movie screen left to play though the scene is done i got two shots of you tell me everything is gonna be fine oh lord you can’t have no more time locked away behind this heart of mine where you claim you’re just passing through cause that’s a lie but i’m alright, and i could stand to be alone tonight cause i got two old songs tell me everything is gonna be fine oh lord
12.
Rover 04:00
maybe my father was a stranger maybe my mother just a crutch maybe september will be colder than november i don’t know but i don’t know much your window is made for looking over i’ll pull down the pane taste your breeze there’s fireflies in the riptides, they are moving in patterns i don’t know but they will cool to my touch if you do wander, i’ll show you so you will know take me you are the sunrise and i am a stone, i know warm me you are the sunrise and i am a stone, i know we pull ourselves up to see the sunset, wonder how deep will be the night we pull on some clothes cause god only knows either way, they will fall when they must maybe my heart is playing rover, calling you over cross the field but i don’t think that’s true, cause the beat skips to you out of time shaking free from the dust if you still wonder, i’ll show you until you know take me you are the sunrise and i am a stone, i know warm me you are the sunrise and i am a stone, i know if you do wander, i’ll show you until you know take me you are the sunrise and i am a stone, i know warm me you are the sunrise and i am a stone, i know
13.
held out as long as i could for you longer than anybody should for any other man burning my hand burning my hand with the coal when i shoulda let it roll i should have let it stand and you said you bet cause you thought i’d forget when you knew it wasn’t true but i was stronger than you it would’ve been much better had i left before the mess when our heads did hit the same it was a game just a game where you are a line and you draw me to shore warm as a drink honey poured out on the floor and i shoulda left you before i let you pour the poison when i was the king but no one ever met me who said they could forget me honey i shoulda let you know but you said you bet cause you thought i’d forget when you knew it wasn’t true but i was stronger than you it woulda been much better had i left before the mess i never received your simple words and i never believed the ones i heard said i wanna be free to try but i sink like a stone and i cry but i shoulda left you long before i met you i shoulda seen and known i shoulda known by the way you acted when you said wanna come home? i shoulda left you long before i met you i shoulda known myself but you sing to me from a movie screen those eyes and you said you bet cause you thought i’d forget when you knew it wasn’t true but i was stronger than you it woulda been much better had i left before the mess
14.
all of the crows in the sand are picking up silver to take it inland to build you a shelter to sleep underwater but come back after winter when everything’s moving in blue i will be waiting for you these arms an open cradle for you i will scale your walls, climb your hills, fly your mountains blaze a trail through the mists of every morning for you get you here bodies and hearts are for speed and hands are for sliding and sparking on skin and voices for singing and bringing vibrations into rooms of standing water bringing rain clouds to float us in them i will be waiting for you these arms an open cradle for you i will scale your walls, climb your hills, fly your mountains blaze a trail through the mists of every morning for you get you here silly miles will fail to keep you away guessing the night knows our game it’s barrelling down like a runaway train build me a shelter to sleep till its over but come back after winter when everything’s ready for you i will be waiting for you these arms an open cradle for you i will scale your walls, climb your hills, fly your mountains blaze a trail through the mists of ever morning for you get you here silly miles will fail to keep you away along the watchtower i’m a sentinel there i stand and i stay silly miles will fail to keep you for you get you here (currently, this is the plan one is cold water and one is sand currently, this is the plan one is cold water and sand)
